Layering

Layering is sort of a no-brainer when it comes to fashion for colder weather, however, it doesn’t have to just serve the purpose of keeping you warm. There are lots of ways to make layering cute and add detail to an outfit. Some of my favorite ways to layer are lace camis under long sleeves, tights under skirts, leg warmers, blazers, chunky sweaters with collared shirts underneath, and puffer vests.

Low rise

Y2K fashion is back in full force and yes that includes low rise jeans! Low rise pants are the easiest way to get that cool early 2000s girl next door look. They look great with any other outfit one would wear with regular jeans but they provide a more interesting silhouette.

Shackets

Shackets are a mix of a jacket and a button up shirt and they are ideal for fall days that are not too cold but not too warm. They feel like an updated version of the countless plaid flannels that most teenagers have in their (or their dad’s) closets. Pair one with a plain tank, some loose jeans, and doc martens and you get the perfect pumpkin patch outfit with minimal effort.

Unique Colored Leather Jackets

Leather jackets are great for throwing on over almost any outfit and are a “cool girl” fall staple. Choosing one in a unique color like a moss green or brick red will make an outfit more eye-catching. Pair it with some leather boots in the same color to look extra put together.

Uggs

I’ve heard many peers and parents say, “They call them Uggs because they’re ugly,” but just hear me out for a second. Uggs are the ultimate fall shoe for a reason. They’re easy to quickly slip on, they keep your toes warm and cozy, and they match with plenty of different bottoms. For a more updated look opt for the Ugg Classic Mini or Ultra mini boots often seen on models Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajowski, and Kaia Gerber.

Fluffy or Puffy Bags

My cozy outfit never feels complete without the addition of a matching cozy bag. In winter there a lot more accessories and random items to carry around and it’s great to have a tote or cross body bag to just throw them all in.
