This year our Boys Varsity Basketball team made it to the State championships with the help of Coach Noble. This was the first time in 12 years our team has made it to state. Coach Noble was also awarded Coach of The Year for his very first time. This is a tremendous accomplishment for both our school and Coach Noble.
Coach Travis Noble has been coaching for 16 years. This is his 6th year coaching Boys Basketball here at Timberline. This year, Noble won The Coach of The Year award for the first time, which is greatly deserved, with all of the hard work he has put into his team and the game. I was fortunate enough to catch up with Coach Noble and ask him a few questions. I wondered who was important in getting this award, and Noble said that his staff and players were the most important pieces. He also said, “Without them, it wouldn’t have been possible.”
When asked about changes he might have made, he responded that he was happy with their success, and wouldn’t have changed a thing. “Finishing at State is a tremendous accomplishment for the team,” said Noble. Noble has pulled inspiration from his own mentors: “My former coaches have inspired me to give back to the game,” said Noble. In response to the significance of this award: “It is humbling, I am more excited for our team as it shows the work they put in throughout the years,” said Noble. Noble described the challenges of the sport: “Each game, each team, each opponent creates different challenges. Getting our team to play together and for each other is a big reason why we had the season we did.” Coach Noble plans to use this honor as an opportunity to influence others and continue growing a competitive team at Timberline.
Way to go, Coach Noble, we are proud to have you to lead the Boys Varsity Basketball team to victory, and congratulations Boys Basketball on your awesome season.
