Timberline has a lot of sports going on year round and in honor of the upcoming first football game I took the chance to interview one of the varsity players, Hudson Snook, about the sport and about this game.
Snook started off telling me that he is a sophomore at Timberline and he plays football and track. He started playing flag football when he was younger and during Junior High at Les Bois he changed to tackle football and through the program got brought to Timberline. I know nothing about football so he had to explain his positions to me. “I play right guard on offense and defensive tackle on defense and so that’s just both sides of the O line and D line, I protect the quarterback on offense and then on defense I do my best to get in with the running back,” said Snook.
After learning a bit about him we talked about this upcoming season and what he thinks will happen with this first game. He had talked to me about how he thinks they had really improved since last year. He even mentioned that he thinks there’s a chance of winning a state championship. “I think this first game will be a challenging one but I think we will persevere like we have in the past,” said Snook.
At the end of the interview Snook said, “Just come to our games, we’re excited to perform and hope to see you there.”
Timberline had a great game and ended up winning, 24-22 against Borah, thanks to Hagen Clint’s field goal at the very end.
