What is hockey? Hockey is fast-paced and played on ice. The game is played with two teams who use sticks to shoot a puck into the other team’s net to score points. The goal is to score more goals than the other team. Hockey usually consists of three periods of equal time sometimes going into overtime and having shootouts. Players use their sticks to pass, control, and shoot the puck. The game involves strategy and skill. Players are skating at high speeds, making quick passes, and moving around others to be able to score.

On February 11, 2025, Timberline faced off against the Rocky/Eagle team in the city championship game. It was a super intense game that ended in overtime and a shootout to come to an end.
At the end of the first period, we were up 1-0. The Rocky/Eagle team had been undefeated their whole season so this up was super great for us. Once the second period was finished the score was 3-1. Then at the end of the third, it was 3-3 leading us into overtime.
Our team still kept our spirits up and tried their hardest. At the end of the overtime, no one had scored so that then led us to a shootout.
Our talented goalie played so well but at the end of the shootout, it was 4-5 Rocky/Eagle. It was a tough loss but in the end, both teams are going to state and the season for Timberline will continue.
