(Girls) Timberline vs Borah February 11, 2025
Coach Andy Jones and the Wolves were looking to carry the momentum from beating the Ridgevue Warhawks to advance closer to a State spot. However, they would be faced against a team that they haven’t beaten since February 3, 2024. The Borah Lions were 2-0 against the Wolves this season heading into this game. If the Wolves could leave with a win, there would be no doubt Timberline would have a spot at state. The Wolves kept it close the whole game but fell short losing 56-52 to the Borah Lions.
(Girls) Timberline vs Capital February 13, 2025
With the loss against Borah, Timberline would have to win this game to punch a ticket to a State Play-In game. This would be the last opportunity for Timberline to hold on to their hopes of making State. Timberline would travel to Borah High School to face the Capital Eagles. This game was the most meaningful game so far on both of these teams’ schedules. Timberline looked strong in the first half and looked to play as the done the whole game leading to the second half. However, Capital turned up the intensity to the point where Timberline had to fight back as the 4th quarter was winding down. It came down to a final play with the clock at 0.6 seconds remaining. A throw-in by Timberline to the post would be the final play of the season. Timberline makes the catch under the basket, lays it up, and bounces off the rim. Ending the Wolves season with a 40-42 loss to the Capital Eagles.
(Boys SENIOR NIGHT) Timberline vs Boise February 12, 2025
Coach Travis Noble was looking to end the season with a win on Senior Night and head into Districts with an active winning streak. The seniors of the boys varsity team include Alex Ko, Carson Huegerich, Gunnar Larsen, Ryan Ennis, Jacob Heyne, Bryce Heinz, Liam Breen, Bode Burns, and Noah Swanson. After Capital lost against Timberline for girls senior night, Timberline was looking to be 2-0 for senior night this season. Even after the game was delayed due to 6 players on Timberline’s roster coming down with a sickness, Alex Ko (Sr.) led the Wolves scoring 21 points. However, the Wolves fell short to the Capital Eagles 56-63.
BOYS DISTRICTS
(Boys) Timberline vs Boise February 18, 2025
According to Max Preps, Timberline Boys Varsity Basketball was ranked 3rd in the 6A Southern Idaho Conference heading into Districts. After ending the regular season on a bad note, the Wolves traveled to Mountain View High School looking to bounce back with a win over the Boise Brave who they beat 52-43 back on February 5, 2025. After the Wolves led early in the game, the Boise Brave were able to claw back and force overtime. As the clock ticked to zero at the end of overtime, the score was still tied, forcing a double overtime. The Boise Brave were able to kick into 2nd gear and forced Timberline to climb back into the game. Late game struggles haunted the Wolves, resulting with them losing 59-66 and being pushed to the losers’ bracket.
(Boys) Timberline vs Capital February 22, 2025
Timberline was now facing the chance of elimination in a win or go home game against the Capital Eagles who just beat the Wolves only 10 days earlier. This time however, the Wolves were now fully healthy and the pressure of ending their season is on the line. Timberline tied their second highest scoring mark this season with 72 points against Capital. They also had 5 different players score at least 10 points, with the leading scorer being Jacob Heyne (Sr.) with 15 points. After ending the Capital Eagles’ season, the Wolves head back to Mountain View High School to face the Meridian Warriors in a winner-to-state game at 7:30 PM on February 25, 2025.
