You walk through Timberline’s crowded hallways, shoulder to shoulder with students heading to the gym. You finally push through the doors and spot your group in the Junior section, even though most of your friends are Sophomores. Squeezing into a seat beside them, you wait. The lights go out. Whispers rippled through the darkness. Then, a spotlight cuts through, and the show begins
From the first act, it’s clear: this isn’t just a casual assembly, this is a full blown production. Each performance brings something new and unexpected, drawing cheers, laughter, and even a few tears. On March 12th, 2025, School Wolf Connection hosted the Talent Show in the gym and transformed it into a stage that showcased just how creative, bold, and talented our students and staff really are.
But the show didn’t start on the stage, it started with auditions, and not everyone who tried out got a spot. One student shared their audition experience, saying,
“The auditions for the talent show is something I’ll never forget: there were people with lightsabers, bass guitars, majestic voice boxes, ETC. My performance was going to be my Spongebob laugh I’m good at! But after the auditions, they didn’t choose me… maybe it was pretty short & cheesy. But overall I had fun & the judges loved it despite never choosing me to perform.”
Even though they didn’t make the final lineup, they still got to participate in another way, starring in the live version of the fan-favorite skit, Culinary Corner.
“I did star in the live performance of Culinary Corner as a client of the ice cream sandwich (a scoop inside a bread sandwich BTW) & it tasted good!”
Another crowd favorite came from physics teacher Mr. Boston who surprised the audience with a whistling routine, featuring seven different animal sounds.
“I was a little nervous because I’ve never performed in front of 1,500 people before,” he said. “But I was excited to rise up to this new challenge. I planned out my routine, got some props ready — a referee shirt and a Nerf gun — and practiced. The folks running the show were super helpful, and I feel like it went well. The audience was very generous with their support, and honestly, I’m so encouraged by the experience that if we do the talent show next year, I’d be glad to be a filler act again with my amazing animal sounds!”
From synchronized dancing and emotional musical solos to comedic skits and quirky surprises, the Timberline Talent Show proved to be more than just entertainment, it was a celebration of student voice, creativity, and courage. And even weeks later, the buzz hasn’t faded. Whether it was an act that made you laugh, cry, or crave an ice cream sandwich on bread, one thing is certain: Timberline Talent is alive, thriving, and already making people wonder, what will be next?
