The Timberline football team faced off against the Boise Brave at the Dona Larson football field. On September 11, 2025, the Wolves were hunting for their third consecutive win of the season, and they achieved that goal, winning 20-13. But how did they win in this defensive battle?
In the first quarter, Timberline starts with a bang. Owen Froehlich (Jr.) gets a fumble recovery for a touchdown, Hagen Clint (Jr.) kicks the extra point to put Timberline up 7-0 with 10:55 left in the first. Nothing else happened offensively or defensively in the first quarter.

Sam Haener (Sr.) after his defensive stop.
Sam Haener comes down and starts the second quarter with a sack with 11:18 left. But Boise soon responded to the sack with Trevor Schoolfield (Sr.), driving it with a passing touchdown to his Wide Receiver. But Boise misses the extra point, trailing Timberline 6-7. The first half ends with the score of Timberline being up 7-6, giving a defensive battle so far from both teams.
Evan Pashce (Jr.) opens up the third quarter with a sack ending Boise’s drive. Timberline in the middle of the third, looking to get the offensive side of the ball rolling, and it all started with Jack Brant (Sr.), the UC Davis commit, leading them down the field and ending off the drive with another touchdown connection to the Utah commit Hudson Lewis (Sr). Timberline, now leading 13-6. Schoolfield, who was offered by UC Davis at the same time as Brant, knew he had to lead an offensive drive to tie the game. Knowing that he runs his way all the way to the end zone for a rushing score by Schoolfield, and capped off by the kicker’s extra point, which he makes to tie it at 13-13 as the third comes to a close.
Brant is leading another good drive to start the 4th quarter, but Boise forces a fumble at the goal line, which is recovered by Boise with 11:03 left in the game. Boise gets stopped on that drive quickly by Timberline as both teams go back and forth with defensive stops until Brant connects with Lewis again, capped off with the extra point by Clint to make the Wolves lead 20-13. When Timberline needs their defense to come up that they do with Benton Bates (Sr.) sacking Schoolfield with 5:02 left in the game, then almost the next play, Nash O’Kelly (Sr.) picks off Schoolfield with 4:30 left on the clock. Timberline runs out the clock with Brody Engroff (Jr.) upsetting Boise on their homecoming game 20-13, giving Timberline their third consecutive win, making them their first 3-0 start since 2015!
