How to tie a tie
Have you been recently struggling with how to tie a tie? Maybe you’re just reading this because you like to read. Either way you are in the right place. Today I will be teaching you step by step directions on how to tie a tie the simple Windsor knot way. You need to know how to tie for many different reasons, whether it’s looking good for your first date, looking good for a job interview, or it could even be just for your own well being.
Let’s get started…
Step 1: Take your tie and determine what side is the main side. Most ties have a clear side and the other side has a line and flaps usually stitched together. Some ties are double sided. Determine that side.
Step 2: Determine which side is the fat side and the short side. The short side goes over your left shoulder and have the fat side to sit around your belly button on the right side.
Step 3: Place the fat side over the short side and place it over to the left.
Step 4: Take the fat side and and go under and over the short side and have it over to the left just above your belly button.
Step 5: Wrap the fat side behind the skinny side to the right and the stitching line on the back should be facing out.
Step 6: Pull the fat side up towards the neck loop and pull it through and set it to the right. The stitching line should be facing out.
Step 7: Pull the tie across the front to the left and the smooth side should be facing out.
Step 8: Pull up into and under the neck loop from underneath.
Step 9: You see a triangle type loop that you just created and take the fat side and pull it through that loop and rest it down the middle. The smooth side should be facing out.
Step 10: Tighten the knot however you choose by pulling the fat side down and at the same time pull the knot up.
You can wear this tie in so many different situations, but remember to always use this responsibly because you don’t want to land every single job or be too irresistible to every love interest.
