Spring is finally here! The long and cold winter has passed, which means spring festivities are in full swing. For Juniors and Seniors at Timberline, prom is quickly approaching. Prom is always a night to remember; filled with excitement and laughter, students dance on the floor in their shimmering dresses and polished tuxes, filled with memories that will last a lifetime. But for some, prom can come at a cost. While prom is meant to bring only happiness and joy, shopping for dresses and tuxedos these days can become a financial burden. Luckily, a few of your fellow students noticed this problem and found a solution.
Kinzy Barber (Soph.), Nevaeh McClarin (Soph.), and Noelle Ramsey (Soph.) made it possible for underprivileged students to shop for prom at a small price. As of now, the Timberline Prom Closet is accepting all donations. The profits from the closet will go towards the Lee Pecky organization that helps students with their education and overcoming challenges. By donating, you will not only benefit your school community but also help a wider range of teens through the organization. If you are looking and willing to donate, you can bring all clothing items and accessories to room 202.
One of the students putting this project together, Kinzy Barber (Soph.), states that “It’s important to donate to the prom closet because it helps underprivileged kids have a chance to dress up and experience one of the high school’s most memorable nights!” Let’s make prom magical for everyone. Your old dress or suit could be the key to someone else’s unforgettable night!
